On a woodland plot surrounded by nature in Sundsvall, Sweden, a communal housing area is proposed. The area consists of nine blocks of terraced houses, four units in each block. All units have the same ground floor area but with different possible configurations on the top floor.

The buildings are made from prefabricated solid timber. On top of the wooden construction is a greenhouse structure that connects the four houses. The continuous terrace replaces the conventional outdoor garden and creates a more communal and social space.

In addition to the nine housing blocks are two common service and recreational building. The idea is to create a mixture of generations among the residents and in doing so, promote a more socially sustainable environment.
